The Loire river, the last
remaining untamed waterway in Europe and
listed by UNESCO as a World
Heritage Site, along the stretch running from Sully-sur-Loire (Loiret)
to Châlonnes–sur-Loire (Maine et Loire), forms the backbone of our department.
But stretching to the South in Sologne and to the North in the Orléans and
Montargis national forests you will discover unspoilt woodlands where you can
breath in beautifully clean air whilst strolling amongst majestic oak and pine
trees.
The Loiret has a longstanding tradition of creating both public and private
floral gardens to make every halt an opportunity to admire nature at its very
best.
In the arboretums, or in the national collections, you can discover unusual rare
species before wandering through the parks and gardens full of roses, the emblem
of the Orléanais area, where a romantic stroll will awaken all your senses.
Come and discover "Le Jardin de Paris".
