COUNTY MUSEUM OF THE RESISTANCE AND DEPORTATION:

1939 - 1945: Secrets and revelations about French history and the life of the French under the Occupation.

During the Second World War, the Loiret area was a hot bed of resistance and paid a high tribute in terms of Deportation.

For this reason, former Resistance fighters and Deportees, with the support to the Regional Council and the entire population of the Loiret have created at Lorris, that was a major resistance centre in 1944, a History and Memorial Museum where you can experience the events and emotions of those dark days.

Throughout your visit, you will discover documents and reconstructions shedding light on:

The war: Why and how?
Vichy-Pétain: Collaboration.
Daily life under the Occupation.
The Maquis – The Liberation.
Internment and Deportation.
