In olden times, the Loire, as well as
the other rivers flowing through our region, were full of fish and
many families lived by fishing. Today, only a few professional
fishermen remain, but it is still possible to fish just for pleasure.
What types of fish will you find in our waterways?
Salmon, allice shad, perch, pike, eel, lamprey and Loire whitebait
will enable you to spend pleasant, patient and silent hours where you
will forget all the tumult of modern life.
Back home, you will be able to prepare some of our local recipes,

From our lakes, you can enjoy cooking carp, bream and tench following
traditional recipes, by using bacon for example.
